Why CASA?  Why foster kids?  Just, why?

This morning I read a blog post on what a mother would like to say about foster kids.  She had several good points to make about common misconceptions regarding foster kids.  Some of her points made me laugh, but the last one really jumped out at me.

Then there is my friend Melissa.  She and her husband are considering being foster parents.  A few weeks ago it was just an idea they were kicking around.  Then they went to a conference where they were able to watch the film, ReMoved (linked below).  Now they are certain they want to be foster parents.

So what am I getting at?  Well, I'm trying to say that working with abused and neglected children can be scary.  It can be uncomfortable.  But they need someone to speak up for them.  It's great that the blogger and my friend want to help them.  Some kids will find themselves blessed by these families.  But what about the kids where you are.  Do they have someone to speak for them?  Could you speak for them?

Watch these videos, and think about how you could make a difference in this girl's life.
